Lamination Explained
None: Uncoated cards are supplied with no extra coating. Meaning the paper comes as standard. There is no glare or shine to this material option, making it a great choice for printing a lot of text or reading material. This option is ideal for loyalty and appointment cards, as suitable pen ink will not smear.
Gloss: A gloss finish provides a lot of shine, providing a more luxurious and expensive look for the business cards. Perfect for making the design on a business card truly shine. Gloss finish is ideal to show off images, as the gloss helps to enhance the colours and add a sense of texture to the finished cards. The extra layer of coating also provides a small layer of protection to the cards, making them slightly thicker and more durable than uncoated cards.
Matte: A matte coating helps to boost the colours on the card, but does not have the shiny appearance that the gloss finish provides – preventing any glare from the cards. Also an option for loyalty and appointment cards, as suitable pen ink will not smear.
Soft Touch: Our most luxurious lamination option. This option provides a silky smooth feel to the business cards, just as the name suggests. This type of lamination will leave the cards with a slight gloss appearance, but will not be as shiny as the gloss lamination option itself.
